First of all — welcome.
If you have recently given your life to Jesus, you are not starting a religion. You are beginning a relationship.

You don’t have to know everything.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You are learning to walk with God — step by step.

Why Give God Your Time?

In the Bible, we see the principle of giving God the first portion. We give Him 10% of our income — not because He needs our money, but because we need to put Him first.

In the same way, we can give Him 10% of our time — not because He is lacking us, but because we are the ones who need Him.

When we give God the first part of our time, we realign our hearts. We are saying:
“You are not just a part of my life — You are my foundation.”

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” — Gospel of Matthew 6:33

This is not about pressure.
It is about priority.

Even Jesus Made Time
Jesus lived a full and demanding life — yet He regularly stepped away to be alone with the Father.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.”
— Gospel of Mark 1:35

If the Son of God needed quiet time with the Father — how much more do we?

What Does This Look Like Practically?
If you are awake about 16 hours a day, 10% is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. But if that feels overwhelming, start smaller.
Relationship grows before routine.

You could begin with:

  • 15–20 minutes reading the Bible (start in the Gospel of John)

  • 10 minutes of honest prayer

  • A few minutes of quiet reflection

  • One worship song during your day

Start where you are.
Consistency matters more than length.

Remember This
You are not doing this to earn God’s love.

“We love because He first loved us.”
— First John 4:19
You are already loved.
Time with God is not a duty — it is an invitation.
