The 10% Challenge

Hands Holding Sprout

Why Give God 10% of Your Time?

We give God 10% of our income — not because He needs our money, but because we need to put Him first.

In the same way, we give Him 10% of our time — not because He is lacking us, but because we are the ones who need Him.

Time is your life.
When you give God your time, you are giving Him your attention, your focus, your heart.

1. Because He Deserves First Place

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
— Gospel of Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

Giving God the first portion of your time shifts your priorities.
It declares: You are not just part of my life — You are my foundation.

2. Because Relationship Requires Time

You cannot build intimacy without presence.

God does not want occasional visits.
He desires daily fellowship.

“Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
— James 4:8 (NIV)

When you intentionally spend time with Him, your heart becomes more sensitive to His voice.

3. Because Jesus Modeled It

Jesus lived a full and demanding life — yet He regularly withdrew to be alone with the Father.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
— Gospel of Mark 1:35 (NIV)

If the Son of God made time for the Father, how much more do we need that time?

4. Because What You Prioritize Shapes You

Your habits form your heart.

When you give God consistent time:

  • Your thoughts begin to align with truth.

  • Your anxieties are surrendered.

  • Your identity becomes rooted in Him.

“We love because he first loved us.”
— First John 4:19 (NIV)

You are not earning love.
You are responding to love.

10% Is Not a Rule — It’s a Rhythm

This is not about legalism.
It is about intentional devotion.

10% simply gives structure to your desire to seek Him.

It helps turn good intentions into faithful practice.

Time with God is not a burden.

It is alignment.
It is strength.
It is peace.
